Belgaum : A shocking murder case linked to a dispute over car payment has come to light, with Belgaum Rural Police arresting five accused within 24 hours of the incident.
According to police, a financial dispute had been ongoing between the complainant and accused Suraj Siddagouli regarding the sale of an old car. The car deal was fixed at ₹2 lakh, and ₹1 lakh had been paid in advance. However, due to technical issues with the vehicle, the car was returned. Later, after deducting ₹30,000 for usage, the complainant demanded the remaining ₹70,000 back. Out of this, only ₹20,000 had been returned, while ₹50,000 was still pending.
On May 27, the complainant, deceased Rahul Tippanna Talwar, and their friends had gone to Rameshwar Nagar in Hunchanhatti village for a party. During this time, the accused allegedly called Rahul for discussions regarding the money dispute. The argument escalated, and the accused attacked Rahul with sharp weapons, inflicting serious injuries on his head, back, and hands, leading to his death on the spot.
A case has been registered at Belgaum Rural Police Station. Acting swiftly, police arrested the following accused:
- Suraj Ramu Siddagouli (26)
- Yogesh Babu Doddamani (28)
- Manjunath Suresh Malkur (21)
- Demappa Talwar (26)
- One juvenile accused
Police are continuing their investigation and searching for the remaining accused involved in the crime.
Senior police officials have appreciated the investigation team for solving the case and arresting the accused within 24 hours.
