Meeting Held for Successful Organization of 7th Akhil Bharatiya Belgaum Marathi Literary Conference

Founder-President Dr. Sharad Gore to Attend the Event

Belgaum : The 7th Akhil Bharatiya Belgaum Marathi Literary Conference – 2026, jointly organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Belgaum and Maratha Mandir, will be held on 24 May 2026 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sahitya Nagari, Maratha Mandir, Belgaum.

A special meeting of women and men office-bearers and volunteers from Belgaum district was recently held at the D. B. Patil Office to discuss preparations and assign responsibilities for the successful conduct of the conference.

The meeting was presided over by Karnataka State President and Seemakavi Ravindra Maruti Patil. Addressing the gathering, he said, “This conference is a strong voice of Marathi identity in the border region. Every volunteer should treat this responsibility as a personal commitment and work dedicatedly for its success.”

The conference will be guided by Founder-President Dr. Sharad Gore of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Parishad, who will also remain present for the event. Senior litterateur Yashwant Patne will preside as the Conference President.

The literary event will feature three major sessions. In the second session, renowned Shivaji-era speaker Yashwant Gosavi from Pune will deliver a lecture on “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj: The Need of Today’s Era.” In the third session, Mumbai-based Lokkavi Prashant More will present a musical poetry performance titled “Kaljatlya Kavita – Aai Va Baap” in his melodious voice, informed District President Adv. Sudhir Chavan.

During the meeting, responsibilities related to welcome arrangements, publicity, stage and pavilion management, hospitality and food arrangements were assigned to various committees.

Among those present were District President Adv. Sudhir Chavan, Vice-President D. B. Patil, Treasurer M. Y. Ghadi, Shivsant Sanjay More, Ranjit Chougule, M. K. Patil, Mohan Ashtekar, Women’s District Executive President Aruna Goje-Patil, Savita Vesane, Roshni Hundre, Smita Killekar and several other office-bearers and volunteers.

The conference, being organized for the seventh consecutive year, is expected to once again become a grand celebration for Marathi literature lovers in the border region, with preparations now gaining momentum.
