Chikkodi, June 17: Tension prevailed at a government high school in Chikkodi after several students allegedly accused a teacher of sexual harassment, prompting angry parents to confront and assault him on the school premises.
The accused, a Kannada teacher at the Urdu Government High School, was taken into police custody after the allegations surfaced. According to sources, multiple students claimed they were subjected to inappropriate behaviour by the teacher.
As news of the allegations spread, a large number of parents gathered at the school and demanded immediate action. The situation turned tense when some parents allegedly attacked the teacher before police intervened.
Police personnel rushed to the spot, restored order, and shifted the accused teacher into custody. Statements from students, parents, and school staff are being recorded as part of the investigation.
Officials said a detailed probe is underway and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings. The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and created anxiety among parents and local residents.
