Belgaum : The City Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti has resolved to intensify its agitation and take to the streets to protect the dignity and rights of Marathi-speaking people until the border dispute receives a final resolution. The meeting also decided to organise a massive protest march and launch a dharna agitation over the issue of Marathi signboards.

Some activists also demanded a protest march to the Deputy Commissioner’s office and demonstrations in front of the Belgaum City Corporation. The meeting further urged the Maharashtra Government to immediately convene a high-level meeting and take a firm stand on the border dispute issue.

On this occasion, the three corporators of the Samiti who have consistently raised their voice for the Marathi language in the Belgaum City Corporation were felicitated for their efforts and commitment towards the Marathi cause.

Corporators Ravi Salunkhe, Shivaji Mandolkar, Vaishali Bhatkande, Ramakant Konduskar, Shubham Shelke, Ankush Kesarkar, Manohar Halgekar, Sagar Patil, Raju Birje, Shridhar Khannukar, Adv.
