The CCB team of Belgaum City Police conducted a raid against illegal ganja trafficking and arrested one accused while seizing contraband and valuables worth around ₹3.10 lakh.
According to police, on May 10, 2026, the accused identified as Saiyyad Nisar Saiyyad Isak (40), a resident of Aradh Nagar, Parli in Beed district of Maharashtra, was allegedly found possessing ganja for illegal sale near the NH-48 service road in the Chigari area under Kakati Police Station limits.
Based on credible information, the CCB team led by PI Manjunath Nayak, PSI Manjunath Bhajantri and staff conducted a raid and detained the accused while he was allegedly attempting to sell the narcotic substance to another person identified as Gajanan from Belgaum.
During the operation, police seized 6 kg 145 grams of ganja valued at approximately ₹3.05 lakh along with a Vivo mobile phone worth ₹5,000. The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹3.10 lakh.
A case has been registered at Kakati Police Station under Crime No. 109/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
Senior police officials, including the Police Commissioner and DCP, have appreciated the efforts of the CCB officers and staff involved in the successful operation.
