South Central Railway has announced a major boost to rail connectivity between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with the regularisation of three weekly express trains connecting Belgaum.
The Railway Board has approved the introduction and regular operation of the Hyderabad–Belgaum, Secunderabad–Belgaum and Charlapalli–Belgaum Weekly Express services from mid-May 2026, bringing greater convenience to passengers travelling between the regions.
Train No. 17071/17072 Hyderabad–Belgaum–Hyderabad Weekly Express will commence service from May 15, 2026. The train will depart from Hyderabad on Thursdays and return from Belgaum on Fridays.
Similarly, Train No. 17073/17074 Secunderabad–Belgaum–Secunderabad Weekly Express will begin operations from May 18, 2026. The train will leave Secunderabad on Mondays and return from Belgaum on Tuesdays.
The Railway Board has also approved Train No. 17075/17076 Charlapalli–Belgaum–Charlapalli Weekly Express, which will start from May 16, 2026. The service will depart from Charlapalli on Saturdays and return from Belgaum on Sundays.
These trains will operate via major stations including Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Raichur, Guntakal, Hosapete, Hubballi, Dharwad, Londa and Khanapur, significantly improving travel convenience for passengers, students, traders and working professionals.
The move is being seen as an important step towards strengthening rail connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka while providing better travel options for Belgaum passengers.
