Belgaum: In a significant step towards promoting environmental awareness and reducing plastic usage, the Giants Group organized an innovative plastic-free campaign at the Khasabag weekly market in Belgaum.
As part of the initiative, nearly 1,000 cloth bags were distributed free of cost to shoppers visiting the market. Volunteers also educated customers about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encouraged them to switch to eco-friendly cloth bags for their daily needs.
The campaign received an enthusiastic response from the public, with many appreciating the effort to create awareness about sustainable living and environmental conservation.
Among those present on the occasion were Sunil Mutgekar, Ashok Halgekar, Arun Kale, Manjunath Shirodkar, Raju Bandivadekar, Raju Jain, Mahadev Bhasme, Anand Kulkarni, Ishwar Patil, Rahul Belvalkar, Sunil Murkute, Shivraj Patil, and several other members and volunteers.
The organizers expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire more citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free Belgaum.
