Final Journey with Dignity: Ex Mayor Vijay More and CPI Kalimirchi Perform Last Rites for Abandoned Cancer Patient

In a deeply emotional act of humanity, an unidentified man suffering from severe mouth cancer passed away while undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Belgaum. Despite continuous medical efforts, the patient succumbed to his illness after battling pain and loneliness for several days.

After his death, the body was kept in the hospital mortuary for many days as authorities waited in the hope that a family member, relative, or acquaintance would come forward to claim him. However, no one arrived, leaving the man abandoned even in death.

Moved by the heartbreaking situation, former Mayor and CPI Kalimirchi stepped forward to ensure the departed soul received a dignified farewell. Taking complete responsibility without hesitation, they reached the Sadashiv Nagar Crematorium and performed all the final rites with utmost respect and compassion.

They were supported by Market Police Station ESI Sujata M., Police Constable Nilesh Armagawade, Nishar Shamsher, Market Police Station Writer Khanapure, and the dedicated staff of the Sadashiv Nagar Crematorium, all of whom played an important role in conducting the funeral with humanity and care.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay More expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police personnel and crematorium staff for their sincere cooperation and compassionate service.

The touching gesture has become a powerful reminder that humanity still exists in society. Even when a person is left alone with no family beside them, there are compassionate individuals willing to stand by them in their final journey with dignity and respect.
