Belgaum: Belgaum skater Shubham Sakhe delivered an impressive performance by winning the bronze medal in the Downhill event at the Open National Ranking Roller Skating Championship held in Chandigarh. The championship witnessed participation from more than 200 skaters from across the country, making the achievement even more significant. The event was part of the national ranking calendar conducted under the Roller Skating Federation of India.
Shubham trains under the guidance of coaches Suryakant Hindalgekar, Yogesh Kulkarni, Vishal Vesne, Vitthal Gangane, and Soham Hindalgekar, whose mentorship has played a vital role in his success.
He has also received encouragement and support from Dr. Prabhakar Kore, former MLA Shyam Ghatage, Raj Ghatage, Umesh Kalghatgi, Prasad Tendulkar, and Indudhar Seetharam, Secretary of the Karnataka Roller Skating Association.
Shubham’s podium finish has brought pride to Belgaum’s skating fraternity and added another milestone to the district’s growing reputation in roller skating.
