Belgaum Police Issue Advisory Ahead of IPL 2026 Final

Belgaum: With Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) reaching the IPL 2026 Final, Belgaum City Police have issued a public advisory to maintain law and order and ensure public safety during and after the match on May 31, 2026.

Police have urged citizens not to engage in unlawful celebrations, block roads, organize bike rallies, perform stunts, overspeed, burst firecrackers, or use hazardous materials in public places. Residents have also been asked to avoid sharing provocative, hateful, or misleading content on social media and to refrain from actions that could create tensions among supporters of different teams.

A special security arrangement will be in place across the city, including intensified checks for drunk driving. Police officials, traffic personnel, and Anti-Stabbing Squad teams will be deployed at key locations, while body-worn cameras will also be used during enforcement operations.

Police warned that drunken driving can attract a fine of ₹10,000 and up to six months’ imprisonment for a first offence, while repeat offenders may face a ₹15,000 fine and up to two years’ imprisonment, along with possible suspension of their driving licence.

Belgaum Police have appealed to citizens to celebrate responsibly and cooperate in maintaining peace, public order, and road safety throughout the IPL final.
