Narcotics Worth ₹2.90 Lakh Seized
The Belgaum City CCB team conducted a major operation against ganja peddling and arrested four persons while seizing narcotics and valuables worth approximately ₹2.90 lakh.
The raid was carried out on May 19, 2026, at a public place on the Tarihal-Halga road following credible information about illegal ganja sales. The arrested accused have been identified as Omkar Yallappa Kolekar (22) of Shivaji Galli, Tarihal; Nagendra Shivaji Ragipattil (23) of Adavisiddeshwar Galli, Tarihal; Pramod Dharmendra Kasbekar (18) of Uchgaon, Kolhapur, Maharashtra; and Gajanan Sachin Patil (19) of Mangesh Nagar, Uchgaon, Maharashtra.
Acting on a tip-off, CCB PI Manjunath Nayak and his team conducted the raid and apprehended the accused while they were allegedly selling ganja. During the operation, the police seized 2 kg 776 grams of ganja, one Vivo mobile phone, one Apple mobile phone, and a Pulsar motorcycle. The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹2.90 lakh.
A case has been registered at Hirebagewadi Police Station under Crime No. 104/2026 under the provisions of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
Senior police officials, including the Police Commissioner, have appreciated the efforts of the CCB team for successfully carrying out the operation.
