The Shahapur police in Belgaum have successfully solved a house burglary case by arresting an accused and recovering stolen property worth ₹45.56 lakh.
According to police, the burglary took place at a house in Bharatnagar, Shahapur, where the accused allegedly broke open the lock and decamped with gold ornaments. Following the incident, a case was registered at Shahapur Police Station under Crime No. 42/2026 under Sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
During the investigation, police arrested Mintu Biswas alias Chintu (52), a resident of Tilak Nagar, West Delhi.
Police recovered 294.190 grams of gold jewellery worth ₹44,86,390 from the accused. A Honda Activa two-wheeler allegedly used in the commission of the crime, valued at ₹70,000, was also seized.
In total, Shahapur police recovered property worth ₹45,56,390 in the case. Further investigation is underway.
