Namdev Shimpi Community Submits Memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Over Error in Caste Certificate

Belgaum: Shri Namdev Daivaki Sanstha submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner alleging incorrect information in the caste certificate of a member belonging to the Namdev Shimpi community. The organization has demanded action against the officials responsible and urged the administration to ensure such mistakes are not repeated in the future.

According to the memorandum, community member Advik Sujit Khatavkar had applied for a caste certificate, but incorrect details allegedly contradicting his original community and religious identity were entered in the official records. The organization claimed that a person belonging to the Namdev Shimpi community was mistakenly recorded as “Muslim,” leading to resentment among members of the community.

The memorandum stated that caste certificates are important documents for education, employment, government benefits, and social identity, and such errors can seriously affect an individual’s future. The organization urged the administration to treat the matter seriously and take immediate corrective measures.

The memorandum also demanded immediate correction of the caste certificate, a detailed inquiry into how the mistake occurred, disciplinary action against the responsible officials or staff, and clear instructions to all taluka offices to prevent such incidents in the future.

Members of the Namdev Shimpi community from Belgaum city, Shahapur, and nearby areas, including several men and women from the community, were present in large numbers during the submission of the memorandum.
