Marathi Department to Present Traditional ‘Dashavatar’ Folk Theatre on Monday

Belagavi, May 24: The Department of Marathi, Rani Channamma University, in association with Shri Bordekar Traditional Dashavatar Natya Mandal, Dodamarg (Sindhudurg district), has organized a special performance of the traditional folk theatre “Dashavatar.” The event will be held on Monday, May 25, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riz Theatre, Konwal Galli, Belagavi.

Belagavi, known for its rich cultural heritage, music, and folk traditions, has a long-standing association with Marathi theatre. Continuing this legacy, the Marathi Department is bringing this unique folk-art performance to local audiences.

The play features performances by Dilip Samant, Vinod Parab, Vijay Wadkar, Sanjay Morye, Ankush Garud, Sudhir Parab, Prasad Mestri, Sanjay Paradkar, Narayan Malvankar, and Deepak Narvekar.

The musical accompaniment will be provided by Ramchandra Parab (Harmonium), Ganesh Mestri (Pakhawaj), and Sachin Palakar (Percussion Support).

Organizers have appealed to theatre lovers and cultural enthusiasts to attend in large numbers and experience this vibrant traditional art form.
