Blood Donation Camp Held on Padma Shri Nana Chudasama’s Birth Anniversary; 15 Donors Participate

Belgaum: To mark the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Nana Chudasama, Giants Men Belgaum and Giants Sakhi Belgaum jointly organised a blood donation camp at the KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Blood Bank. The social service initiative received an encouraging response, with 15 donors voluntarily donating blood and contributing to a noble cause.

The programme began with floral tributes being paid to the portrait of Padma Shri Nana Chudasama. Speaking on the occasion, Giants Men Belgaum President Laxman Shinde highlighted the importance of blood donation and said that it is one of the greatest acts of service. He noted that a single blood donor can help save several lives and appealed to healthy citizens to donate blood regularly.

KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Blood Bank Chief Shrikant Viragi addressed the gathering and provided detailed guidance on maintaining healthy haemoglobin levels through a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle habits. He pointed out that haemoglobin deficiency is common among women and often prevents willing donors from participating in blood donation drives. He advised women to include green leafy vegetables, pulses, jaggery, dates, pomegranate, wheatgrass and other iron-rich foods in their daily diet to improve their haemoglobin levels.

Giants Sakhi Belgaum President Sulakshana Shinolkar, in her address, urged women to remain conscious of their health and take steps to improve their haemoglobin levels. She also encouraged greater participation in social service activities, stating that blood donation is not only an act of service but also a responsibility towards society.

Regional Director Sanjay Patil, Federation Directors Sunil Mutagekar and Ashok Halagekar, and former Giants Presidents Madan Bamane and Vijay Bansur were among the dignitaries present at the event.

The donors included Arun Kale, Sunil Mutagekar, Madan Bamane, Ashok Halagekar, Sunil Pawar, Jeevan Kadam, Mahesh Bamane, Shyam Jadhav, Sulakshana Shinolkar, Akshay Jadhav, Rohit Chavan, Pradeep Chavan, Sunil Murkute, Mahadev Kesarkar and Rahul Belwalkar.

The dignitaries congratulated all the donors and appreciated their commitment to social welfare. The organisers said the camp would help strengthen blood bank reserves and ensure the timely availability of blood for patients in need. The successful organisation of the camp was widely appreciated by those present.
