Bharat Vikas Parishad Honours City Toppers, Awards Scholarships to Meritorious Students

Belgaum: Bharat Vikas Parishad felicitated students who secured first rank in Belagavi city in the SSLC and PUC board examinations at a special function held on Sunday evening at the GGC Hall. The meritorious students were honoured with cash scholarships, certificates of appreciation, and mementoes. Industrialist and social worker Suhas Chandak attended the event as the chief guest.

The programme began with a full rendition of Vande Mataram by Swara More and Poorna Prabhu. The chief guest paid floral tributes to the portraits of Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda. Parishad President Vinayak More welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory address, while Swati Ghodekar introduced the guests. Pandurang Nayak briefed the audience about the organisation’s activities. Addressing the students, Suhas Chandak shared motivational thoughts and encouraged them to pursue excellence.

Among SSLC toppers, Sanjota Pandurang Vhawal (99.5%, St. Mary’s School) secured first place in the English medium category, Soham Satish Haldankar (98.5%, Marathi Vidyaniketan) topped the Marathi medium category, and Anusha Basavaraj Kannal (98.7%, Ushatai Gogte Girls High School) emerged first in the Kannada medium category.

In the PUC examinations, Dhvani Santosh Kulkarni (99.8%, Gogte College of Commerce) secured first place in Commerce, Sameer Kallapur (99.3%, KLE Independent PU College) topped the Science stream, and Srushti Chidanand Saloni (99%, Lingaraj PU College) stood first in the Arts stream.

All the toppers were felicitated in the presence of their parents and dignitaries. The Parishad also honoured the meritorious children of its members with special prizes.

The programme was compered by Prof. Aruna Naik, while V.R. Gudi coordinated the event. Secretary K.V. Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks. Several dignitaries, including Principal V.N. Joshi, Dr. J.G. Naik, Vinayak Ghodekar, D.Y. Patil, Subhash Mirashi, Ganapati Bhujagurav, P.M. Patil, Jaya Nayak, Shubhangi Mirashi, Priya Patil, Smita Bhujagurav, Mangal Kulkarni, Jyoti Prabhu, Akshata More, and Prof. Pratibha Hallepanavar, were present.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
