Belgaum, June 5: World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at RPD Pre-University College. The event was organized to create awareness about environmental conservation and witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and staff members.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college, Mrs. Tripti Shinde. Dr. Santosh Jayagoudar attended as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized that environmental protection is the need of the hour and urged everyone to take responsibility not only for planting trees but also for nurturing and preserving them. He also encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives to help maintain ecological balance.
The introductory remarks were delivered by Prof. Manjunath Doddamani, who highlighted the significance of World Environment Day and stressed the need for collective efforts towards environmental conservation.
The programme was compered by student Purva Patil, while Narahari Chavan proposed the vote of thanks.
The event successfully created awareness among students about the importance of protecting the environment and effectively conveyed the message of environmental conservation.
