Belgaum, June 5: Shahapur Police have successfully solved a breach of trust case and recovered 103.97 grams of gold jewellery worth approximately ₹15.73 lakh. The accused has been arrested, and the entire stolen property has been seized.
A case was registered at Shahapur Police Station under Crime No. 63/2026 and Section 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. According to the complaint, gold ornaments entrusted to an individual for work and repairs were allegedly misappropriated instead of being returned to the owner.

The accused, identified as Krishna Mohan Maity (36), originally from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and currently residing in Shahapur, Belgaum, was taken into custody during the investigation. Police recovered gold ornaments weighing 103.97 grams, valued at approximately ₹15,73,370, from his possession.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Inspector S.S. Simani, with the efforts of PSI Manikanta Poojari, WPSI S.N. Basava, and other members of the investigation team.
Senior police officials have appreciated the officers and staff involved for their prompt and effective work in solving the case and recovering the stolen property.
