Belgaum: Traffic police intercepted a minor riding a motorcycle (KA-22/HH-1441) near Postman Circle in Belgaum city at around 8:42 PM on May 29, 2026.
The vehicle was seized, and the minor’s parent was summoned to the police station. Police explained that allowing an underage child to operate a vehicle is a punishable offence under the Motor Vehicles Act. A notice has been issued to the vehicle owner, who now faces a fine of ₹25,000 through court proceedings.
Police have urged parents not to allow minors to drive vehicles and to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules for the safety of all road users.
