Belgaum, June 15: The MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC), Belgaum, organised a Community Yoga Session at Shiv Teerth, an extension of the iconic Military Mahadev Mandir, as part of the International Yoga Day celebrations.
Held under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the event highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being across all age groups. Around 500 participants, including students, teachers, senior citizens and troops of the MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre, enthusiastically took part in the programme.
Trained instructors from MLIRC conducted various yoga asanas and pranayama sessions, explaining their benefits for healthy living, stress management and overall wellness. The enthusiastic response reflected the growing awareness of yoga as an effective means of achieving a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The event brought together civilians and military personnel on a common platform, fostering unity, harmony and collective well-being. It also reinforced the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and society.
