House Burglary Case Solved in Shindoli; Jewellery Worth ₹23 Lakh Recovered, Accused Arrested

Belgaum: Marihal Police have cracked a house burglary case reported from Mahalakshmipuram Nagar in Shindoli village and arrested a habitual offender. During the operation, police recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth approximately ₹23 lakh.

The burglary took place on May 10, 2026, when the accused allegedly broke into a locked house and stole gold ornaments kept inside. Following an investigation and intensive patrolling, police detained a suspicious individual near Shindoli on May 25. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to the crime.

The arrested accused has been identified as Vishwanath Durgappa Muttur (26), a resident of Bagalkot district. Police said he was also involved in several other burglary cases registered at Marihal and Kakati police stations.

Authorities recovered 134 grams of gold ornaments and 510 grams of silver ornaments, along with other valuables, totaling around ₹23 lakh. The accused has been produced before the court, and further investigation is underway.
