Belgaum–Delhi Flight Service Reduced to Three Days a Week, Passengers Disappointed

Belgaum, July 2: Air travellers in Belgaum have expressed disappointment after the daily direct flight service to Delhi was reduced to just three flights a week from July 1. The revised schedule will remain in effect until October and is reportedly due to rising fuel costs and other operational considerations.

Under the new timetable, flights between Belgaum and Delhi will now operate only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. While the departure and arrival timings remain unchanged, the reduced frequency is expected to create inconvenience for passengers who rely on regular connectivity.

The Belgaum–Delhi route is widely used by business travellers, government officials, students, and tourists. With the daily service no longer available, many passengers may now have to depend on connecting flights or alternative modes of transport. Travellers also fear that reduced seat availability could result in higher airfares.

The latest reduction comes shortly after another setback for air passengers. From June 15, one of the two daily flights on the Belgaum–Bengaluru route was withdrawn, leaving travellers with fewer options. The cut in Delhi services has further added to the concerns of frequent flyers.

At present, Belgaum Airport offers direct flights to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi. However, several routes suspended over the past year are yet to be restored.

With air connectivity gradually shrinking, passengers fear that more services could be reduced if operational challenges continue. Many residents have urged the authorities and airline operators to prioritise passenger convenience and restore daily flight frequencies on key routes as soon as possible.
